The companies getting the most from AI are rethinking how work gets done
Good morning. Companies are spending more on AI, and employees overwhelmingly say the technology makes them more productive. So far, those gains aren’t translating into operating profit for most companies.

TL;DR
- Nine in 10 organizations use AI for at least one business function, with 44% scaling it enterprise-wide.
- Eighty percent of employees say AI improves their individual productivity, and half report better decision-making.
- Only 37% of companies see a meaningful impact of AI on earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), a figure unchanged from the previous year.
- AI now constitutes over 10% of IT budgets for 28% of companies, with 60% planning further investment.
- AI high performers, the top 6% of organizations, attribute at least 5% of EBIT to AI and are more likely to redesign workflows.
- Larger companies (over $1 billion in revenue) are more likely to scale AI enterprise-wide compared to smaller firms.
